Which constellation includes three stars in an equilateral triangle?

I've never been much of a stargazer, but there a particular constellation[?] which has caught my eye. There are three stars which make a perfect equilateral triangle. Orion has been on the horizon just after dusk and the mystery triangle is about in the middle of the sky, almost straight overhead.

(I'm in the American southwest, by the way.)

Does anyone know what the names of these stars are or if they are part of a constellation?|||Hi English!

What you describe fits the constellation Cassiopeia.

Cassiopeia is very high in the sky from your latitude in the early evening this season of year. Three of its stars, Caph, Schedar and Tsih, form a bright, compact and almost perfect equilateral triangle.

The only other constellation I can think of that looks like an equilateral triangle is the Southern Triangle, but it's never visible from the American southwest.

I'd be surprised if the Great Square of Pegasus were confused with any sort of triangle, and certainly not an equilateral triangle. It looks so much like a square, and it's much larger than Cassiopeia.

"Keep looking up!"|||Andromeda and Pegasus are almost overhead just after full darkness now. Some of their stars could be thought of as triangle shapes. Nearby is the faint constellation Triangulum, but it is isosceles, not equilateral. Part of Cassiopeia is a triangle, but is it is more like a W.|||How big is your triangle? Your fist at arm's length is about 10 degrees across.

The candidates are stars in Cassiopeia, Perseus and Andromeda. Cassiopeia is a prominent W or M, while Perseus just looks, well, complicated.|||I'm guessing you spotted 3 of the 4 stars in the Great Square of Pegasus - it would have been almost directly overhead at dusk in your area.
