How often does Mars go into retrograde motion and when was the last time and in which constellation?

which constellation will it be in next?

please explain.|||yes, when mars is closest, it seems to take (on the sky!) a little turn backwards and again forewards (all planets further than earth do this), this is because earth itself is moving that time around sun, so we get different looking directions...

for mars this was the last time in Jan 2008 in Taurus, the next time will be Dec 2009 in Lion|||Mars orbit never reverses direction. Its apparent path in the sky can become retrograde, typically around opposition - once every 2 years I think.
