How many stars does the constellation sagittarious have?

how many stars does the constellation sagittarious have? ive been searching the internet but i am getting a lot of different answers. also, if u can, can u tell me the names of the stars?|||The reason you're getting so many different answers is that there are different ways of counting the stars. The classic 'Teapot' shape is made up of eight stars, the 'Archer' shape is made of 12 stars, and there are dozens of less bright stars that have been numbered by astronomers within the constellation's boundary. And that's just the stars within reach of a backyard telescope...|||This question is impossible to answer. The number of stars in a constellation depends on how faint are the stars you wish to count, and which constellation pattern you choose. Constellations are defined by their boundaries, not by the stars they contain. A constellation may have only one first magnitude (really bright) star, or none at all, like Sagittarius. It may contain billions of faint stars. There are no standard or official patterns of stars that make up a constellation: every book or atlas uses a different pattern. So there is no way to say exactly how many stars are in any constellation. Ask your teacher not to give you questions which are impossible to answer.

A good reference for Sagittarius is the Wikipedia article. Some teachers will tell you not to use Wikipedia, but they are mistaken. Wikipedia's articles on astronomy are usually very accurate, and give you detailed references so you can check that their facts are correct.|||the constellation sagittarious contains 120 stars.14 of itsstars are know to have planets.|||im gonna keep it simple and say ENdLESS AMOUNTS of stars
